Edwards and Gary O'Neil Among Wolves Head Coach Contenders

Edwards along with Gary O'Neil represent the initial candidates in the frame to replace the former manager as head coach of Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The previous coach was dismissed on Sunday after the team's ten-game winless beginning to the Premier League campaign.

And both candidates - both of who have previous associations to the team - are among the options to be evaluated by the club leadership.

The manager is presently at another club, which would pose a possible hurdle to his hiring at Molineux.

However the ex- Luton manager - who made more than 100 of appearances for the club during his playing career - is considered a leading candidate for the vacancy.

The 42-year-old is said to have support from the club directors as they start the process of appointing a new manager.

O'Neil is additionally emerging as a surprise candidate, even though he would be a shock choice given he was released by the club in December last year.

The former West Ham United midfielder is currently unemployed meaning the club would not be required to provide any buyout fee.
