Acclaimed young adult author and entertainer David Walliams has been dropped by his UK book publisher, according to an announcement.

An official for the publisher commented: "Upon deliberation, and under the leadership of its fresh leadership, HarperCollins UK will not be releasing additional books by David Walliams."

Reports indicate that the move was taken subsequent to an review of allegations of inappropriate behaviour directed at female individuals.

The firm did not confirm the specific rationale behind the move, noting: "We refrain from speaking about internal matters."

A Prolific Literary Career

Walliams stands as a most successful children's authors, with sales exceeding more than 60 million copies internationally in five dozen languages.

His first children's book, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins in 2008.

A number of his titles, for example *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have also been adapted into small-screen adaptations.

He has published over four dozen titles altogether, including a holiday title named *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins this past October.

A Dual Career

His career breakthrough occurred on the television comedy show *Little Britain* and has additionally received National Television Awards for his duties as an arbiter on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was made an OBE back in 2017 for his services to the charitable sector and arts community.

This development follows the selection of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's freshly installed boss in October.
